School is finally finished for the semester! I will get a nice break until January 6. I survived all my classes with pretty decent grades. I only have one more final to take, but it's for my online class so I have extra time to take it, which I am very thankful for because I would not have been prepared to take it during Finals week.
This break should be pretty great. Time will be spent baking my all-time favorite cookies, adding chains to our grateful chain, clean the house, use the pretty pink KitchenAid mixer that we got for Christmas, sleep in, and most importantly spend loads of time with my amazing husband. :) So far we have succeeded at cleaning our bedroom, sleeping in, and spending loads of time together. Later today we will bake Reese's Peanut Butter Cup cookies, add chains to our grateful chain, and maybe some cleaning.
I am also looking forward to making homemade clam chowder and peppermint cheesecake for Christmas dinner. That stuff is super yummy. :) I hope everyone has a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
It's about anything from school, break, exciting news, random things, and anything in between. Really, it's about life.

Last Week of School!
So I haven't posted in nearly 3 months. There's many reasons for that. Let me name a few: 1) I could never think of anything good to write about 2) 17 credits makes for a very busy schedule and homework load 3) I guess I didn't always feel like it 4) Yeah, I think that's it...
It's been a crazy semester. I don't know how I made it. *knock on wood* since the semester is not quite yet over (four more days of classes then finals week). I am looking forward to it being done though. It'll be nice to take only 14 credits next semester. I am especially excited for Friday when Dallen and I have our annual Ice Cream Party. We have at the end of Fall semester to celebrate surviving the semester and a break from school. What a better way to celebrate than to do it with ice cream, especially HOMEMADE from SCRATCH ice cream. :)
I suppose I can give a rundown of what went on this semester. I'll try to make it brief. First, Dallen's parents came out for a visit. Second, we won front row tickets to the BYU homecoming game (BYU won by a lot). YAY! Third, we had a nice, quiet Thanksgiving dinner with just the two of us. Fourth, we went to visit Dallen's grandma and while there I met one of his aunts, uncles, cousin, and his grandma's puppy named Callie. Fifth, we had our very own dining out since the snow was too terrible last night for us to drive up Little Cottonwood Canyon.
That's my semester in a nut shell. I am excited to have a break from homework and classes for a few weeks and I am also excited to sleep in, every single day.

Birthday Weekend Bash
So, just a few short days ago I turned 21. Since my birthday fell on a Sunday this year, Dallen and I decided to have some fun with my birthday and celebrate it all weekend long. I guess we kinda started celebrating on Thursday...It was a really fun birthday weekend. I think the best I have had thus far.
To start off my birthday weekend we went to the mall. There was an original reason why we went and not because it was my birthday. What the original reason was, I don't really remember. Anyway, I ended up getting a new purse, shirt, two perfumes, and shower gel. I like my new purse. Dallen is actually the one who picked it out. It's a across-the-body purse. My shoulders aren't built for normal shoulder purses. They always end up falling off my shoulder. The purse is black and has sparkly rhinestones on it. Super cute. My shirt is gray with black lace short sleeves and black print and also has sparkly rhinestone on it. Also is pretty cute. Dallen happened to pick out the shirt too. He has really good taste in style. He knows me well. :) Dallen also helped me pick out the perfumes and shower gel. All of the scents are kinda sweet and fruity, since that's what I like. I'm not really into the flowery scent, too girly and just not me.
On Friday it was date night, so we decided to go to BYU's Fall Fest. It was pretty fun. There was laser tag, paper airplane make and toss, concert, hamster ball races (it has a real name but I don't remember what it is), a dance, food, inflatable slides, inflatable obstacle course, and karaoke. We did everything except laser tag and karaoke. We were going to do laser tag since I only went once before in my 21 years of existing, but the next open slots were later than we felt like staying. On our way home we decided to get dinner at Eggrollin'. It's a Filipino lumpia truck. The food is quite good. Lumpia is Filipino for egg roll. It's sad the the only Philippine food is in a truck. All the actual restaurants closed.
Saturday is when the real birthday festivities began. It was quite fun. Dallen made a guava cheesecake, which tasted really good. The recipe was kinda sad though. The cheesecake didn't stiffen as much as it should have. It still tasted good. We bought Henry Weinhardt's Root Beer. It was really good as well. Expensive stuff but good nonetheless.
The real surprise is when my former roommates (and best friends) came. Whitney was the first one to show up. She couldn't stay for long since she had another place to go. I was still super excited that she came. The last time we saw each other before Saturday was over a year ago at the Utah wedding reception. By the way, she makes super yummy cupcakes. :) So yummy. About an hour later Mandy came. While she was here we played Love Letters (a really fun, simple, easy game), ate cheesecake, drank root beer, and chatted. Acacia was the only one not able to come, but she is off helping do the Lord's work which I think is super awesome. I am sure she is a super great missionary.
Later that day, Dallen and I went to Salt Lake City. We were going to go to go to an indoor shooting range and shoot handguns so I can say that I got my "21 shots" but I wasn't 21 yet and therefore wasn't allowed to shoot. Instead, we walked the Gateway and City Creek Malls. We were going to eat at a Filipino restaurant, but all of the ones in SLC also closed. How sad. Since they didn't have our Filipino restaurant, we ate at Cafe Zupas. They have super yummy food. I always get the same thing when I eat there (which isn't often because it is a little pricey, but not too bad): Turkey Spinach Artichoke sandwich (hold the tomatoes) and New England Clam Chowder. Yummy.
Sunday was, well, Sunday so we went to church and was going to have a nice, relaxing day at home after church. While at church we learned that Dallen's Grammy was in the hospital (she doing awesomely and is back home). We visited with her for a few hours, and by a few I really mean about 5 or 6. It's okay though because when we got there she was by herself. It was nice talking with her. We didn't see them since Independence day, so the chat was nice.
By means of birthday presents I got yummy cupcakes from Whitney, delicious chocolates from Mandy, and a baby cougar stuffed animal (named Cosmo) with a blue, sparkly rhinestone bracelet (that makes a better collar for Cosmo) and ear buds from my ever wonderful husband. I also received many birthday wishes. I guess all in all you can say that my birthday was pretty good. I'm looking forward to what my future birthdays have in store for me.

School, School, School
School is back in session as of yesterday (September 3). So far it isn't too bad, homework-wise. There is only one class left that hasn't started. It starts tomorrow. For the most part I don't mind my classes there was one I wasn't really looking forward to, so I dropped and added a different class.
I really enjoy being back at BYU. It's seriously a great place to be. The one thing I'm not looking forward to is deciding whether or not to continue majoring in Dietetics or switch to Family Life. There are a few reasons why I'm debating about switching majors. First, to even be accepted to the Dietetics program you need at least 300 hours of volunteer or work experience related to the program (dietary aid, cafeteria worker, etc). Right now I only have a max of about 30 or so...To add to that problem, I only have a few classes left to take before I run out of pre-Dietetics classes. The remainder of the classes is for the professional sequence. The application deadline for acceptance to the program is either in February or March. Out of all the people that apply, only 40 students are let in to the program per year. That's not a whole lot of students...Second problem, for one of my nutrition classes we had to take a pre-assessment quiz to see if we are ready to take this course and see if Intro to Nutrition and Chemistry need to stay pre-reqs for the class. I did not do as well as I hoped...I didn't fail, but I certainly didn't get an A on it. If it hadn't been two years since taking the pre-reqs, I probably would have done a lot better on the quiz. The nutrition class itself seems pretty fun. It helps that it is the same professor I had for my Intro to Nutrition class.
There are also a few reasons why I am considering switching to Family Life. One, I like learning about families. Two, I might be able to graduate sooner than if I stick with Dietetics. Three, it's an open program. No applying to get in the program.
I really do like learning about Dietetics and Family Life. They are both fun topics and super applicable for everyday life, which is why it is really hard for me to decide. Once I decide what to do, maybe I'll make the other class my minor. We'll see...Hopefully I figure this all out before Tuesday (the Add/Drop deadline).

Skeeter Bites
I learned something new about myself yesterday: I am no longer an allergy free woman. What I thought were spider bites on my arm turned out to be an acute allergic reaction to mosquito bites. Now the doctor has me taking Benadryl. I'm not sure how long I have to take it...Hopefully not to long. That stuff makes me sleepy. Benadryl making me sleepy is all fine and dandy...until the medicine that put me to sleep wears off in the middle of the night making it next to impossible to fall asleep again. Also, Dallen has me applying bug repellent for the rest of the summer (I don't think it's working too well, since I was attacked by the silly skeeters last night). Personally, I think it would have been cool if my mosquito bites were really spider bites because then I would have a chance at becoming Spider Woman. Well, maybe not, but it was a fun thought.
